These two bars, belonging to a theatre, hadn't been refurbished for over 20 years. They were treated identically in terms of shape and distribution of space, but using two contrasting colour schemes.  Practicality, low maintenance and style were priorities.  A complex lighting scheme had to be devised and new sprung wooden floors were laid, as the rooms also served for the dancers’ rehearsals.
